How to Download YouTube Videos on your laptop hey guys today I want to show you how to download youtube videos 100% legally, and how to download youtube videos on a laptop without any software, we've all been there we've found this awesome video that we really like and we want to download it so that we can watch it in our own time when we're offline before you go ahead and download this video though let's look into the legalities of downloading videos from youtube when you first opened your YouTube account you agreed to terms and conditions they're slightly different for all of the countries but I'm pretty sure that all of them have got the standard clause it's very black and white and it says you are not allowed to access reproduce and download any part of the Service or any content except as expressly authorized by the service or be with prior written permission from youtube or from their respective rights holders.

In other words, what this is saying to you is that you can only download youtube videos when you are using the methods that are provided to you by youtube themselves so what are the methods that youtube allows us to use to download youtube videos.

So the first method is going to apply to you if you already have a youtube account and if you want to download any of your own videos that you have published in the past to use this method you need to navigate to your YouTube studio dashboard so just studio.youtube.com and then click on the content tab on the left-hand side and you can browse all of the videos that you have ever uploaded so if for whatever reason you have lost the original file of any of the videos that you have ever posted on youtube you can easily download those videos and to do that just mouse over any of the videos that you want to download and then click three dots to bring up the options and you will see an option to download so here I can actually click download and this will download the local mp4 file of the video for me so that I can do whatever I want with this video.

The second way to download youtube videos is to use the download button now not everyone will have it I'm going to explain it in just a second but you may have seen that some people when you see the screen shares actually have a download button you can click this download button and the video you want can be download easily once the video has downloaded you can actually watch it from your saved videos on youtube all of these videos that I have downloaded I can then go back and watch them just by clicking into the top left and looking at downloads so I've got a special area where I can see all of the videos that I have downloaded and I can just come back and watch them at any time in the future even if I'm not connected to the internet.

So why do I have this well this is because I've got access to youtube premium is an official youtube service and it's a premium service which costs money approximately 15 dollars per month so well you get ad-free and background play so I use this quite a lot I don't like wasting time on watching being forced to watch ads on youtube because I do a lot of stuff on youtube so for me this saves a lot of time and also you also get background play which basically means that I can play music on my phone from youtube I can just listen to it and I can shut it down and I can have a black screen and the music will continue playing it doesn't actually stop without youtube premium and of course, it's got this downloads functionality which basically means that you can save videos for when you need them.

So for example, if I'm going on an aeroplane and I'm not going to have a reception wi-fi reception I can save all of these videos and I can watch them while I don't have access to the internet and like I said guys you know it is very convenient when you need to be offline and you want to watch some of the videos from youtube when you're offline then this is potentially something that you could consider.

You can download youtube videos on the YouTube folder without any cost and you can also use YouTube premium if you want but, both options are available free and paid.
